The National beach soccer squad "Solomon Bilikiki' is eyeing Switzerland for their international build ups before heading off to Marseilles 2008 FIFA Beach soccer World Cup in France.

The squad is planning to leave on the 6th of July for their international preparations.

Bilikiki Head Coach Henry Koto revealed to Solomon Times that arrangements are underway with the Swiss National beach soccer coach Angelo Schirinzi who is currently in Honiara.

"We are planning to leave on the 6th of July, spend a week or two in Switzerland playing against their national team before traveling to France,"Koto said.

The head coach Koto said international exposure is important for his boys to experience hardness of sandy pitches there compared to the one here.

He said, "The pitch we are currently training at (DC Park) is far below standard pitches in Brazil and if we went straight from here to France, it will really affect our performance there."

Solomon Bilikiki opens its World cup campaign against Italy in the tournament's opening match on July 17, face a familiar and formidable opponents Portugal on Saturday 19 July in Match 10 of the championship.

The Local boy's final Group B showdown will be against fellow newcomers El Salvador on Monday 21 July in Match 18.
