The SkyAirWorld Airlines Company held their launching last night at the King Solomon Hotel.

The SkyAirWorld, a privately owned Australia company, started its flights yesterday the 3rd of March 2008.

Speaking with the Chief Executive Officer of the new airline, Mr. David Charlton said that their company will provide flights from Brisbane to Honiara five days a week.

Mr. Charlton said that as an independent airline, they see that the competition in the country is good.

He said that it is not like they are going to have Australian employees alone, "we want to employ local cabin crews as well, so we could have mixed employees in the company," he added.

Mr. Charlton said that during the arrival of the SkyAirWorld aircraft yesterday the whole company crew had received a very fantastic welcome.

He said that he was looking forward to start working together with the people of Solomon Islands. Mr. Charlton also revealed that they are planning to start flying flights direct from Brisbane to Munda in the Western Province.

Mr. David Charlton said that it will help the tourists to move easily, "I think that direct flights to Munda might be possible by mid year." "But it depends on the development of the Munda airstrip" he added.
