The SINIS Business and Partnerships team hosted an appreciation event to thank the Solomon Islands Government, the supporting sponsors, stakeholders and partners for their support to SINIS programs’ offered for the athletes and coaches.

The appreciation event started off with acknowledgements, followed by a short video recap of developments that happened at SINIS in the past 11 months and ended with an interview panel of four SINIS athletes of the month awardees whom shared their experience of how SINIS has supported them with their training.

“A year ago, SINIS only had a handful of staff and just a part of an office block. Now we have more than 70 full time staff, interns working in the newly built complex, looking after 1000+ athletes, trains more than 300+ athletes daily and supported 27 national sport federations. SINIS continue to run personal development sessions for athletes, coaches and staff."

"Pasifiki Athletes Career and Education Expo, Athlete of the Month recognitions, Kommuniti Ambassadors Program, Snack Pack are few of the many initiatives that has happened. SINIS will be hosting the upcoming Sports Awards with the help of our local and international partners. We are thankful for the tremendous support given by the Government, our local and international partners to support the athletes,” says Executive Director, Aaron Alsop.

During the interview panel, the athlete of the month for September, Esmie Belo shared that the Wellbeing programmes such as the Kommuniti Ambassadors program and Presenters Course, has helped her to gain more confidence in public speaking and how to be a better leader. 

SINIS Operations will continue to support the athletes training and developments with their National Sports Federations in upcoming programs like the SINIS Open Day which will be on the 27th January 2023.
