Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) General Secretary, Eddie Ngava, and Finance Officer, Goddfrey Manehioha, are in Noumea, New Caledonia attending the Financial Assistance Programme (FAP), and 'Win in Oceania' seminar.

Speaking prior to their departure last Friday, Mr. Ngava said their attendance is important because of strict FIFA guidelines on how FAP is administered.

Solomon Islands receive financial assistance from OFC/FIFA annually and like other member associations must adhere with strict regulations to ensure finances given are used for purposes intended for.

The seminar will also look at 'Win in Oceania' concept which FIFA president, Joseph Sepp Blatter announced last year.

Under this project, US$8million has been put aside to assist all member association to develop their football infrastructure over four (4) years.

Mr. Ngava said they will mainly be looking at how this money will be used over the four years and for what purpose.

He noted administration and competition as two likely areas to be considered for this funding subject to OFC approval.

The two SIFF officials will return at the weekend.
