The Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) has reestablished a presence on the Internet after some years without a dedicated website.
The SIFF Media Office launched the website on January 15 but decided to hold out on any announcement until it was confident that the link with the Our Telekom Web servers was working correctly. The launch of the new SIFF website answers a long existing call from followers of Solomon Islands football who are based overseas.
The SIFF Media Office said that the website is very minimal, only giving news and some information.
"It is a simple website and suits our purpose at this stage," SIFF Media Officer, Joseph Boso, said.
This approach is taken because a major project for websites for all of the Oceania Football Confederations (OFC) member associations (MAs) is on the way. The new website system is currently being developed and tested for OFC MAs and will be rolled out throughout 2010 and 2011.
The OFC website project is developed by Stay In Front, an information technology company based in the United States but with a branch in New Zealand.
The OFC has already started using the Stay In Front website. It can be viewed at http://www.oceaniafootball.com
The SIFF website can be found at http://www.siff.com.sb
