The G’Day Solomon Islands Fun Run is on this Saturday 22 October and there are already over 5,000 participants registered.

With so many runners and walkers on the streets of Honiara, the Australian High Commission and the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force are working together to ensure that road safety is in place during the event.

Motorists driving to and from the Western part of town in the morning are advised that the road from Bishops Dale to the Art Gallery Grounds will be closed from 8.00am to 9.00am this Saturday for the G’day Solomon Islands Fun Run event.

The closure is necessary to enable participants to run or walk the whole course of the Fun Run safely. Members of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force and Fun Run officials will be stationed along the roads to ensure that runners and walkers are safe and that the traffic rules are followed.

Motorists are therefore advised to make alternative arrangements or better yet, join us for the Fun Run.

The G’Day Solomon Islands Fun Run is a free event for all ages. Fun Run participants will have the option of completing a 3km walk or 5km run and will be treated to a free healthy breakfast at the conclusion of the event. The first 5,000 registered participants will receive a free t-shirt sponsored by SolRice.
