Fitness equipments in Parliament stand idle due to 'lack of space'.

The Republic of China (Taiwan) Embassy in Honiara handed the fitness equipment to Solomon Islands National Parliament following a successful 2008 trade fair showcased in the Solomons from June 23-25.

These include two massage chairs, two treadmills and one foot massage.

However, these equipments are still not used, as confirmed by the Clerk to Parliament, Tae'asi Sanga.

"The equipments are still not used due to lack of space suitable for set up," Mrs. Sanga said.

She said that there needs to be a proper room with better ventilation suitable for such equipments.

Solomon Times was informed that the equipments were still stored in Parliament.

"We are expecting a new building for the ministers that would be appropriate to store the equipments to be used sometimes next year," said Mrs. Sanga.

The Clerk to Parliament adds that it is hoped all the equipment will be in full use once an appropriate place is built.
