Our Telekom donated a prepaid mobile phone in support of the Solo Idol programme.
Our Telekom Assistant Manager Marketing, Mrs Rachel Rahii presented the donation to the National Coordinator of the Solo Idol programme, Charles Ratu at the Point Cruz Telekom office yesterday.The donation will be used as a prize for the overall winner of the 2008 Solo Idol in the senior category.
The senior category consists of individuals with age range of 15 to 29 years old.
Mr. Ratu acknowledged Our Telekom for the generous support and being the first organisation to give prize donation towards the programme.
He added that he still welcome prize donation from other organisations towards the winner of junior category. This category consists of children participants with age range of 7 to 14 years old.
Our Telekom willingly render its support after the Ministry of Women Youth & Children Affairs (MWYCA) appealed to the company to support winners of the Solo Idol programme.
The 2008 Solo Idol programme was jointly organised by the Ministry of Women Youth & Children Affairs (MWYCA) and the Global Youth & Leadership Nexus (GYLN).
The first elimination round of this singing competition was held on the 6th July and the second round will be held 5pm on Sunday 20th July 2008 at the Multi-purpose Hall.
