Solomon Islands National Team squad for the FIFA World Cup 2026—Oceania Qualifiers was announced today in a Press Conference ahead of the team’s departure for Fiji this weekend.
Since taking the helm early last month, Head Coach, Josh Smith has assembled a 23-man squad consisting of young talents and a mixture of experience to bank on.
Former National U19 and Real Kakamora 18-year-old defender, Gordon Iro will be making his senior debut, while Laugu United’s midfielder, Ben Fox and Paul Francis have been the latest players recalled to the set-up.
Smith looks poised for a strong campaign which he believes with support from the team’s staff including the likes of veteran forward, Benjamin Totori and the team’s Strength & Conditioning Coach Colombian Juan Camilo Marin throughout the preparations has built a good chemistry among the players.
Taking up the Assistant Coach role this time is Southern United’s coach, Tibon Oge.
The team travels to Fiji tomorrow and will take on the host nation on Thursday 10 October at 6:00 pm at the HFC Stadium.
