Local brewery Solbrew has thrown its support behind the upcoming 7s Competition to be hosted by Marist Rugby Club over the Easter weekend.

Marist Rugby Club President, Francis Wale expressed his appreciation of the Solbrew sponsorship.

"Basically this competition is going ahead because of Solbrew, they has been a long time supporter of rugby and in recent times of Marist Rugby Club and we are very appreciative that they have chosen to demonstrate their support in this way"

Meanwhile a Marist Rugby Club spokesperson says the club hopes that despite the short time to prepare, all Honiara clubs will be able to participate in the competition.

"The competition is open to all rugby clubs in Honiara, the short notice might affect participation particularly from the provinces but we hope that we will get a good number of teams."

The spokesperson said that National Seven's officials have also indicated that they will be on the look out for new players for the national rugby seven's team during the Marist Solbrew Sevens competition.

"So far our understanding is officials from the National Sevens Team will be scouting for some new talent for the National Seven's Team, which again is why we hope that all the Honiara clubs especially will be able to take part"

Registration forms are available to any interested clubs at the Global Lawyers Office at the NFP Plaza.
