The Solomon Islands National Institute of Sport (SINIS) has reached a partnership with the Guadalcanal Provincial education authority to roll out the High-Performance Talent Identification program.

The partnership will enable the schools to access programs and services offered under the High-Performance Talent Pathways that aim to leverage and help students find their potential in sport and life.

10 Guadalcanal provincial schools turned up for an initial information session this week, where discussions were exchanged and confirmation to begin the program in August 2022.

Sir Jacob Vouza Memorial School Teacher Dann Tanagu Tolia thanked SINIS for the pathway initiative and the opportunity for provincial students to be part of it.

“Such sports development introduced will be a benefit for the future generation. It’s an encouraging program where students can strive academically and physically,” Tolia stated.

“It will be an eye opener for our students – isolating within the provinces, and I’m excited they will have their turn to showcase themselves.

The Nguvia Community High School in East Guadalcanal confirmed the first engagement.
