Fraud Detectives from the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force have arrested and charged a former Member of Parliament for Makira Ulawa Province.

The charges are in relation to fraud incidents allegedly committed when the accused was still a Member of Parliament.

Police officers arrested the accused on 29 March 2011 and he was taken to the Police Headquarters where he was charged with two counts of Conversion and two counts of Abuse of Office respectively.

The accused was released on a principal bail of $5000 and is expected to appear in court again on 29 April 2011.
