Solomon Islands Volleyball Federation (SIVF) successfully held its first-ever national beach volleyball Championship over the weekend at SINIS Multi Beach Court.

A total of 20 teams competed in an open category for both Men & Women - all teams/individuals made a super finish to walk away with awarded cash prizes.

SIVF President Morris Maitaki congratulated the participants and winners following four days of intense competition.

“On behalf of the federation, I would like to congratulate all who have participated and made this first beach competition a success,” says Maitaki.

“Also, the technical officials for officiating. We look forward to continuing hosting such competitions for beach volleyball every month, starting January 2023."

The President also thanked the SINIS Management for the ongoing support in developing the sport nationally.

“Thank you to SINIS staff and management, we are looking forward to utilizing this partnership with SINIS as we work together to further develop the sport here in the country as we strongly believe that we can excel through to the world stage like other Pacific countries."

The national beach volleyball women's team already made exceptional feats at the regional level and the federation is committed to continuing the support to improve performance for next year’s Sol2023 XVII Pacific Games.

“We are confident to produce good results and win medals next year as we continue to create a competitive pool of players,” Maitaki stated.
