The High Court has issued an order for the former member of Parliament for North-West Guadalcanal, Siriako Usa, to produce documents to show how he spent public funds meant for the constituency.

The Acting Registrar for the High Court told SIBC News that Mr Usa will have to produce statements of accounts, financial reports and other documentary evidence on how he spent, used, managed, or administered the RCDF, Millennium funds, micro-projects and Livelihood funds during his term as MP.

She said the order was issued to Mr Usa on Thursday last week after the matter was heard in the High Court.

A group of people from his constituency took up the case to sign the legal action demanding that the MP disclose how he used the funds.

Justice David Chetwynd issued the order for Mr Usa to disclose the necessary documents on the 13th of May in the next hearing.

It is understood that many are watching this case closely, and many are said to be considering the same course of action.
