Solomon Islands has beaten new comers Tonga 7-1.

The game was dominated by the Solomon Islands in the opening spell but were not able to convert some easy chances. James Naka broke the deadlock at the 7th minute, followed by another quick goal from Thompson Peter.

Solomon Islands piled pressure on the Tongan defense, resulting in an own goal from Alimoni Kaufusi. The first period ended 3-0 in favor of Solomon Islands.

The second period started with another own goal, a deflection from Tonga’s Tevita Havili. Tonga managed to get one back, through Pitasoni Ulavalu – Tonga’s second goal of the tournament.

Solomon Islands pushed hard during the last quarter of the game, two goals from Max Fa’ari and one goal from Roy Mafane sealed the game for the Bilikiki boys.

Solomon Islands will play Tahiti tomorrow, the winner guaranteed a place at the Beach Soccer World Cup.
