The ANZ Inter-Primary School Mini Tennis competition has officially closed yesterday afternoon at the Club Supreme tennis courts.

The tennis organizer, Mr. Benjamin Joel, said that this type of event is very important especially for the young children.

Mr. Joel told Solomon Times that he believes in teaching tennis at an early age, "this is where we breed the biggest tennis players like Michael Leong, Irene George and other players who have created a name for the Solomon Islands tennis," he added.

Mr. Joel also emphasized that by training them very early they would play with confidence and in turn will be good Tennis Ambassadors for Solomon Islands.

At the end of the tournament Vura Community School won the Inter-Primary competition.

Meanwhile, the organizers will also wait for the results from the same tennis competition in Auki. Eight players will be selected from the competition to play against a Honiara select side.
