Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Communication and Aviation, Luma Darcy has revealed that the plan formulated last year to build a new domestic terminal at Henderson this year, is still uncertain due to lack of funding.

In an interview with the National Express, Permanent Secretary Luma Darcy said that there is still no progress on the proposal as there is no funding available.

He said that it is hoped that there would be funding available under next year's budget which will determine when the work on the new domestic terminal would begin.

Mr. Darcy said that currently the only work undertaken at the old domestic terminal was on renovation which is near completion.

He also revealed that the proposed new terminal is open to any donors willing to help in the building of the domestic terminal.

"If funding was available the domestic terminal should be completed by the end of the year, however, the proposal would have to wait until funding can be secured," Mr. Darcy said.
