Clerk to Parliament Taeasi Sanga has confirmed that the eighth parliament session will begin tomorrow and is expected to deliberate on the 2009 budget as the main Government business.

Mrs. Sanga says other Government business for the session will also include debate on Government Bills.

She says Parliament office had already received notice for the introduction of the Appropriation Bill, the Constitutional Amendment Bill Number One, the Correctional Act, the Civil Aviation Bill and the Companies Act Bill.

Meanwhile, the Solomon Islands Police Force is also well prepared in terms of security for the official opening of parliament.

Speaking at his weekly press conference yesterday, Mr. Peter Marshall said that the police are setting up various operations and "they will be ready to react if any problem arises."
