Taekwondo Green vs Blue competition under the Performance Services Team 1 at Solomon Islands National Institute of Sport (SINIS) commences this week Saturday between 8 to 10am at the High Performance Combat facility.

The Taekwondo competition is an ongoing program for SINIS to make athletes be experienced and get used to how they can control their mentality during sport, and to see how their performance is progressing.

Strength and Conditioning Coach for Taekwondo and Karate in Portfolio 1, Robert Belo said the competition will also give Coaches the chance to observe athletes performances and see in technical areas that still need to be improved on.

This includes working on programs that will help them push up the athletes to the level expected from them, building up for the upcoming 17th Pacific Games to be hosted in Solomon Islands later this year between November 19 and December 2.

"Through observation can make us create individual programs for the athletes who have already picked up in training and for those who are yet to catch up on level expected as everyone must be on the same level," said Belo.
