Solomon Water says that the Kongulai pump and gravity system will be shut down due to high turbidity, areas affected will continue to experience low pressure or water outages.

The following areas will be affected;

Solomon Water says that for customers still receiving water it is important to boil all water before food preparation and consumption.

"This shutdown is a direct consequence of ongoing illegal and unmanaged logging in the Kohove and Kongulai catchment areas, and is outside of Solomon Water’s control. We are working with government and landowners to find solutions to this ongoing problem.

"We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding while our team are currently monitoring the situation," Solomon Water said in a prepared statement.
