Solomon Islands workers were honoured for their outstanding performance at the Agri Labour Australia Awards Night, held at Moe in Victoria over the weekend.

The awards celebrated the contributions of workers under the PALM scheme, with Solomon Islanders employed at the Greenham Gippsland meat processing facility in Moe receiving special recognition for their work ethic, reliability, and adaptability.

In a vibrant display of national pride, the Solomon Islands team also performed a cultural dance, sharing a piece of home with attendees and highlighting the cultural diversity that strengthens Australia’s regional industries.

Award recipient, Selwyn Kuza said “Solomon workers are highly adaptable to meat works. Our resilience, willingness to learn, and support for one another has helped us succeed at Greenham Gippsland.”

The recognition reflects the success of the PALM scheme in delivering meaningful employment and skill development for Solomon Islanders, while also creating pathways to uplift communities through remittances and long-term career growth.

This milestone reinforces the strong partnership between Approved Employers and the Solomon Islands Government in ensuring the success and welfare of workers across Australia.
