Media managers and personnel from around the Pacific region will convene in Honiara next week for a week long Conference.

The Conference will be the biggest gathering of media managers and personnel from around the Pacific Island region.

The conference will begin with training workshops from Monday, to be followed by the official opening of the PINA proper on Thursday.

Head of the Media Association of Solomon Islands Secretariat Alfred Sasako says Pacific delegates to the Pacific Islands News Association Conference will be joined by delegates from international media and related organizations.

He says the convention will be discussing many important issues including training programmes for journalists and the media situation in Fiji and Tonga.
