Solomon Brewery Limited’s (SolBrew) this week donated medicines and medical supplies to the value of SBD350,000 to the National Referral Hospital (NRH) Pharmacy.
SolBrew’s Managing Director Peralt van der Merwe said that following a stock take at SolBrew health facility of medical supplies they concluded that SolBrew had supplies that may now be needed more by Solomon Islands.
“With the social distancing measures we currently have in place at SolBrew, meaning we don’t have as many staff on site daily, it made sense to support Solomon Islands elsewhere other than on the SolBrew site.”
SolBrew then reached out to the National hospital to see if the medical supplies including medicines would be useful for them. Following the confirmation from NRH authorities, SolBrew delivered two car-loads of medical supplies to the NRH Pharmacy.
Mr van der Merwe said “given the situation that we are facing right now SolBrew is honoured to be able to donate SolBrew’ s medical supplies to the National hospital.”
The wide range of medical supplies provided included medical PPE, breathing support masks, wide ranges of antibiotics, transfusions (drips) and plenty more.
Solomon Breweries was established in 1993 and has been operating in Solomon Islands since - employing 150 plus Solomon Islanders in a range of areas including Brewing, Engineering and Commercial, and indirectly employing and supporting hundreds more through distribution and retailers, all the shops and outlets selling SolBrew, Canoe or SB.
