Premier of Guadalcanal Province, Hon.Francis Sade, has attended a low key chupu presentation program at the Local Fusion Cafe, Solomon Islands National University (SINU) campus, today morning.

The chupu is being presented to Premier Sade by the Department of Agriculture as a symbol to strengthen GPG and SINU's relation to ensure that the Department re-utilises its area at Aruligho, Sahalu Ward.

Speaking during the ceremony, the Pro-Vice Chancellor Corporate (PVCC) of SINU, Mr. Shadrach Fanega, acknowledges Premier Sade and the people of Northwest Guadalcanal for the initiative.

He says that the chupu symbolises the relationship between the two entities. He also mentions that the Department of Agriculture will utilize the area for agricultural developments.

In response, Premier Sade strongly emphasizes that his government has always welcome such important partnerships and educational services.

He also states that the benefits are manifold in terms of agricultural developments and social and economic benefits for not only the people of Northwest Guadalcanal, but the whole of Guadalcanal Province as well.

The short chupu presentation was also attended by the Guadalcanal Province’s Minister of Women, Youths and Sports (Hon. Rose Tala), Minister Culture and Tourism (Hon. Richard Reti), Manager for BICs, Mr. Trevor Laban Honimae, and several SINU lectures from the Department of Agriculture.
