Solomon Islands artist Chris Kamu'ana Rohoima shared a heartfelt moment with his family when he received the life-changing call from Nesia Daily’s Jacob McQuire and Michael Chow, informing him that he had won the Pacific Break 2024 competition.
Chris’ winning entry, Naratana Manu—meaning "the birds crying"—holds deep personal significance.
It is his first original song to be recorded, and he dedicated the track to his late father, a member of the Makai Sirihani Band.
In an emotional reflection, Chris shared that he and his father had listened to Naratana Manu together in the hospital before his father passed away.
"I believe this song… it’s something that connects me and him," Chris said. "He knew that the song one day would be great… it would be a hit."
Naratana Manu has resonated not only with Chris' family but with the Pacific Break judges and audiences, capturing the spirit of the competition and touching hearts across the region.
Nesia Daily extends its congratulations to Chris Kamu'ana Rohoima and all the finalists, while also expressing gratitude to everyone who participated in Pacific Break 2024.
