Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo has called on the Opposition Leader, Dr Derek Sikua, to produce evidences of the illegal stockpile he claimed to have knowledge of.

Prime Minister Lilo made the call following claims by Dr Sikua of having evidence of a stock pile of more than 200 tons of beche-de-mer worth millions of dollars.

The Opposition's statement came about following allegations that the government was soon lifting the ban currently imposed on beche-de-mer.

Dr Sikua claimed that there is a wide conspiracy network that seeks to export the illegal stockpile in defiance of the current ban.

But Prime Minister Lilo says the ban is still in place awaiting a scientific report on the current stock.

Mr Lilo says that the Opposition Leader must produce the evidence to the appropriate government authority so that the matter could be dealt with immediately.
