Detectives are investigating the stabbing of a Catholic Priest at Kukum last night. The Priest is in a serious but stable condition at the National Referral Hospital.
Police were alerted by a local man who went to the church early this morning and noticed damage to the room near the altar. Forensic officers attended the Church where they identified two crime scenes. Forensic Officers found evidence of the attack in the office as well as in a bedroom.An examination of the scene led police to believe that the intruders broke into a room within the church before they forced their way into the residence. Police believe the attack took place sometime in the early hours of the morning.
Police are appealing to members of the public who may have information about the matter to come forward.
