The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Community Policing Team in Buala, Isabel Province, recently held an awareness program at Guguha Community High School.
The event, organized in collaboration with the National Community Policing coordinator for emerging issues, Sergeant Tamaeri Cheong, and New Zealand police advisors, brought together over four hundred students and teachers.
Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) for Isabel Province, Inspector Harry Vanosi, explained that the primary goal of the awareness program was to engage students in positive learning and promote safety awareness. He noted that the discussions during the session centered on fostering positive learning attitudes among students and encouraging them to excel in their academic pursuits and future careers.
Inspector Vanosi also shared that the awareness team concluded the program by presenting soccer balls to the school.
The gesture was well-received by both students and teachers, who expressed their appreciation and requested that similar programs be continued in the future.
"The awareness talk was a great success, achieving its intended aims and objectives," Inspector Vanosi remarked.
The school's principal, Mr. Leonard Vehu, was particularly impressed with the visit and the informative session conducted by the police team.
