FUNAFUTI, TUVALU- PRIME Minister Hon. Manasseh Sogavare (MP) joins with other leaders from the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) member countries for talks on the issue of climate change.

Under the auspices of the Pacific Small Island Developing States, the Climate Change Sautalaga event was hosted by the Honourable Prime Minister of Tuvalu Rt. Hon. Enele Sopoaga.

In his opening remarks, Rt. Hon. Sopoaga made a call to the leaders to act urgently to guarantee the future of Pacific Small Island Developing States.

“Our survival is at stake and there is no time to waste. We must be decisive in our actions,” he said.

The event gives the opportunity for the Prime Minister and other leaders to hear the latest science of climate change and to react to it.

Chief guest of the Sautalaga and Chair of the Pacific Small Developing States, Prime Minister of Fiji Hon. Frank Bainimarama stated that greater cohesion and a greater resolve is needed in the collective response to the climate threat and the threat to oceans.

The Prime Minister was accompanied by the Mimister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade Hon. Jeremiah Manele.
