The Solomon Islands Students Association (SISA) in Laucala-based University of the South Pacific (USP) is complete with a new office on campus.
This was revealed to students at a meeting yesterday conducted purposely for them to meet with the National Training Unit (NTU) Director, Selu Maezama.SISA President, Eric Saueha, said the new set-up will make things more convenient for both the executive and students.
"[The new office] makes it more convenient to deal with students as we don't have to run around places for consultation and information," Mr. Saueha said.
The University had allocated space for the new SISA office and students were reminded to take pride in the office as "this will be our new headquarter."
Solomon Times understands that this new achievement of the current executive makes it the first for SISA to have a proper office.
"This is a real good set up because students finally have a place to freely go to especially to meet with executive members on any issues that is affecting them in their studies," third year Bachelor of Science student, Martha Orudiana, said.
She encourages students to make use of the new office "because it's a set up that is in place especially to benefit us."
Most students approached expressed similar sentiments on the convenience of a specific room that can lead them directly to the executive who play the role of being their mediator with education officers back in the Solomons.
They said back in the days when there was no office, students had to go all around the campus when in need to find members of the SISA executive and welcome the initiative.
