Narasirato Pan Pipe group has been praised for the launch of its new album over the weekend.

Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare, at the album's weekend launch, described the album as "a fine example of relying on one's self to do things in life".

Mr. Sogavare said such is the "very essence" of his government's bottom-up approach policy. He adds such initiative has gained his government's support and recognition.

The Prime Minister said a Special Committee has been appointed to spearhead preparations for the country's 30th Anniversary in July next year, highlighting Narasirato's chance to be approached to play a leading role in the cultural and panpipe celebrations.

Narasirato is a traditional pan pipe group from Are' Are' in the remote Oterama Village at the southern end of Malaita. Narasirato has been well exposed in the international scene having toured places such as Taiwan, Philippines and Australia.
