The official guidelines on how to apply for the utilization of the Rural Development Livelihood Projects Fund (RDLP) was released last week.
RDLPF is a Solomon Islands Government fully funded rural development programme totaling one million dollars per Constituency per year. The Fund was established with the objective of funding social and economic infrastructure and other developments in each constituency to compliment Provincial and National Projects.
The Ministry of Rural Development Coordination released the guideline which states that the projects should impact more than 90% of the constituency's population and must contribute to national and provincial development objectives.
The guidelines include the submission of the formal application form to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Rural Development Coordination and Implementation for professional and technical assessment before approval.
It also states that no payments may be made into individual MP or RCDF accounts. The MRD through the constituency Development Officers will assist in the development of projects proposals and in the supervision, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of these projects.
