Commins Menapi is set to join a tentative national squad outfit selected by the Solomon Islands Football Federation.

Menapi is back in the country after helping his Waitakere United side win a trip to the upcoming FIFA World Club Championships in Japan.

Menapi is included in a tentative squad that will play a Honiara select side known as the Solympics in a charity match scheduled for the 16th of May at the Lawson Tama Stadium.

The charity match is jointly organized by the SIFF and the Malaita for Western and Choiseul Rehabilitation Committee. Federation spokesman Eddie Ngava stated that SIFF agreed to co-host the one day event as it was for a worthy cause. "We will also use the event to identify potential players for the final soccer squad" said Ngava. "The SIFF squad is still a tentative list we are still looking out for potential names to add to the list"

Mr Ngava went on to say that those playing in the charity match will be some of our finest soccer players. The game is expected to draw a sizeable crowd as for many this would be their first time to see the probable players earmarked for the squad.
