The Solomon Islands women’s champion team, Kololae FC’s goal keeper Sylvester Maenu’u made history when she was awarded the golden glove award at the end of the OFC women’s champions’ league for her outstanding performance.

Being injured in their first match against Labasa FC, the Koloale Women's Football Team goal keeper Sylvester Maenu’u endured pain and intense pressure all throughout the tournament to receiving the golden glove award at the end of the FC women’s league in Port Moresby.

She was injured, she was in pain, but she was still on the pitch, she saves the goal attempts and wins the golden glove, she is Sylvester Maenu'u!

Just by looking at her facial expression on the field of play, Maenu’u suffered a severe pain on the right axillary region of her body, an injury she carried all throughout the tournament.

Koloale head coach Crystal Bakolo later confirmed that her players was injured in their tournament opener and was suffering from the injury everytime she stretches to save goal attempts.

Despite the injury the goal keeper did not let her team down.

Maenu’u did put on an extravagant performances between the sticks from saving goal attempts to putting long cannon balls upfront to push her team into their opponent’s tertiary.
