The Ma'asina Forum is calling on the people of Malaita province to support its push to have the parliament dissolved.

The call comes after two weeks where the former Prime Minister Danny Phillip attacked the government he formed when elected in 2010; the country's latest budget was widely ridiculed; and the parliamentary opposition has been accused of lobbying for political support for a no-confidence motion in current Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo.

The Forum is a powerful political lobby, and it says it's disappointed with the state of the country's political scene.

But before it goes any further General Secretary William Gua told Pacific Correspondent Campbell Cooney they will be asking the people of the province for their support.
