Prime Minister Hon. Manasseh Sogavare has revoked the legal notice on the restriction of movements of persons in the Lord Howe Settlement and Burnscreek in Honiara.

A Government media statement today confirms the lifting of the restriction for both Lord Howe Settlement and Burns Creek is now effective.

The statement further stated that the Prime Minister has also revoked the legal notice on the restriction of movements of persons, Vessels and Aircrafts for Munda and Seghe in the Western province.

These were COVID 19 hotspot areas that were locked-down to limit the spread of the virus and allow the Ministry of Health and Medical Services to complete contact tracing and testing of affected people within those communities.

The government also reminds these communities on the importance of being fully vaccinated, reiterating that the vaccine will protect people from getting seriously ill even if they catch the virus.
