One of our own local artist, Mr. Samson Saeni, who is well known around the country as Sharzy, will be attending a Professional Music Summit this month.

The Music Summit is an international event organized by the MUSQUES FRANCE PLUS and the Government of New Caledonia, which will be held in Noumea, New Caledonia, from the 21st to the 24th of September 2007.

The music summit will bring music creators from all countries located in the Oceania and South Asia area which are Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, Malaysia, Vanuatu, Tahiti and also Solomon Islands which will be represented by our local artist, Mr. Saeni, as well as many parties involved in or dealing with Intellectual property's and author's rights: editors, industry figures, journalists, copyright societies' represent ants.

The artistical sponsorship will be assured by President of Musiques France Plus, Enrico Macias, and President of SACENC (Society of authors, Composers and Publishers of New Caledonia), Tim Sameke.

Supported by the French Authorities, the New Caledonian Government, the SACEM and the SACENC, the will focus on the richness and diversity of the music creators from those particular regions.

It will be a unique occasion for our local talent to meet face to face with other musicians to share experiences and debate about the issues the artists have to face regionally.

Mr. Saeni's participation is of great importance for the organizers, where he can share the experience and knowledge of the Solomons with other delegations, to make his opinion count at the summit and to represent Solomon Islands and its artists.
