The funeral of the late Paul Sikoiasi, a law student who died tragically in Port Vila, was held recently in Honiara.
The funeral service was attended by Private Secretary to the Prime Minister of Vanuatu, Mr. Arnold Bani, Secretary General of Malvatumauri, Mr Selwyn Garu, Leader of Solomon Islands Community in Vanuatu, Mr George Faerua, USP representative from Emalus Campus, Mr. Steven Garaesani, and relatives and friends of late Paul Sikoiasi.Education Minister, Dr Derick Sikua, said that Skioiasi's death is a loss that "we cannot retrieve with the power of mankind but it is only through God can we understand the lessons that are there for us, improve our relationships firstly with him then with other believers, family members and friends".
Dr Derick Sikua thanked the Government of Vanuatu and the University of the South Pacific for respecting our cultures in such an occasion with their presence.
The body of the late Paul Sikoiasi will be laid to rest in his village in Malaita.
