Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Naha Police Station are investigating a break-in incident at China Harbor Engineering Company (CHEC) over the weekend at KG VI area East of Honiara.
Commissioner of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force Mostyn Mangau says, “It will be alleged that a total of one hundred and fifty nine thousand plus dollars’ worth of building construction items was stolen from CHEC.”
Commissioner Mangau says, “The break-in incident must have occurred between 23 and 24 October 2021.”
Mr Mangau says, “Suspects in relation to the break-in incident were still at large and I call on those who might have any information to assist police with investigation. Investigation into the matter is still continuing.”

The 2023 Pacific Games is scheduled to be held in Honiara, Solomon Islands between 19 November to 2 December 2023.
This will be the first time the Solomon Islands would host the Games. The event was originally scheduled for July 16 to 29 of 2023.
However, in July 2021, the Games organizers requested a date change due to delays in preparation for the games caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
