Public notices will go up to halt all development plans between the areas of Lungga River to Foxwood.

Spokesman of the Guadalcanal indigenous tribal groups, Andrew Kuvu, told SIBC that notices will be up this week.

Tribes claiming ownership of the lands requested for all plans to be on halt until land title holders are sorted out.

According to Mr. Kuvu, clearings and construction of buildings are continuing despite lack of knowledge by the group about the developments.

He urged the Commissioner of Lands to clarify to the groups the activities taking place in the area before any development can take place.

Concerns were raised with the Guadalcanal Provincial government, who support the landowning groups' move to put up public notices to halt all planned development activities.
