Public Sector Unions have given the national government until the end of this month to respond to a second option relating to their demand for 11.5 % Cost of Living Adjustment increase.
Speaking to SIBC News recently, President of Solomon Islands National Teachers Association (SINTA), Timson Ray, said they have presented a second option to the government recently."It was given under the condition that they respond within 28 days," said Mr Ray.
Mr Ray said that the government responded with a counter offer of 2.5 % which was not even half of what they wanted.
"We have since rejected the counter offer and have made a second offer," said Mr Ray.
The SINTA President said they are seriously considering taking some kind of industrial action should the response to their second option turn out unfavorable.
Mr Ray did not disclose details of the union's second offer as negotiations on the matter with the government continue.
