Dr Glen Deakin, an adjunct Senior Lecturer from JCU: James Cook University, Australia is in Honiara for 3 weeks supervising Sport & Exercise Science students at the Solomon Islands National Institute of Sport - SINIS.
Dr Deakin has over 35 years’ experience in working with Olympic and World Champion athletes across Triathlon, Swimming, Distance athletics and a variety of other team sports.
After completing his PhD in exercise physiology at Southern Cross University, Lismore in 2004, Glen Deakin joined the Institute of Sport and Exercise Science (ISES) in 2005 as the Cairns Campus Coordinator when ISES commenced operations in Cairns.
His expertise in Sport Science and Strength & Conditioning along with his coaching background provides a valuable contribution to SINIS coaches and athletes.
Dr Deakin and his JCU colleague Associate Professor Anthony Leicht have been leading groups to Solomon Islands for almost a decade. They have now connected with SINIS to expand opportunities in a High Performance environment.
