The Thirty-eighth Meeting of the Committee of Representatives of Governments and Administrations (CRGA 38) was held at the Secretariat of the Pacific Communities (SPC) headquarters in Noumea, New Caledonia, from the 13th to 16th October 2008.

The meeting was attended by delegates from Australia, Cook Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji Islands, France, French Polynesia, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, New Zealand, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Pitcairn Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu, United States of America, Vanuatu, and Wallis and Futuna.

The meeting considered the work programme of the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) during 2008, as well as policy issues the Organization is working on, and the financial and administrative issues.

The meeting discussed issues as per the Forum Leaders Communiqué from their meeting in August this year, namely food security, digital strategy, climate change and the regional institutional framework.

The meeting noted the progress and results of the Pacific Plan three years on and the Report of the review of Pacific Regional Organizations (PRO) initiated by Australia and New Zealand.

Solomon Islands were represented at the meeting by Mr. Barnabas Anga, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs and Mr. John Tuhaika (Jnr), Assistant Secretary (REC) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade.

The next meeting of CRGA and Conference will be held at Nukualofa, Tonga in 2009.
