202 positive COVID-19 cases have been recorded today after a 24-hour reporting period.

The Minister of Health and Medical Services Dr. Culwick Togamana gave the update during his daily COVID-19 situation update on the national broadcaster SIBC.

Of the 202 cases recorded, 57 are recorded in Honiara and 145 are in the provinces – of which 66 are recorded in Malaita, 50 in Guadalcanal, 14 in Choiseul, 6 in Isabel, and 9 in the Western province.

The total cumulative positive COVID-19 cases for the country now stands at 4,827 - which includes 132 positive cases that were not included in the Permanent Secretary’s update on Sunday.

Of the 4,827 cases, 3,810 cases are recorded in Honiara, while 1,017 are recorded in the provinces.

For the provinces, the latest cumulative update is as follows.

Malaita – 500 cases, 68 recoveries and 7 deaths.

Guadalcanal – 143 cases, 54 recoveries, and 10 deaths.

Choiseul – 75 cases, of which 54 are in Taro and 21 in Wagina. No deaths or hospitalization recorded.

Isabel – 47 cases, all of which are reportedly mild, with no admissions or deaths recorded.

Western – 171 cases, 34 recoveries.

Makira, Temotu, and Rennell Bellona remain COVID-19 free.
