The country has recorded 149 new COVID-19 cases over the past 48 hours. Health Minister Dr Culwick Togamana gave the update during his COVID-19 situation update on the national broadcaster, SIBC.
The country now has a cumulative total case count of 12,005.
Of the 149 new cases recorded, 10 cases were recorded in Honiara, 40 in West, 2 in Isabel, 3 in Central, 3 in Choiseul, 20 in Makira, and 11 in Renbel.
In Malaita Province, no new cases were reported in the past 4 days. However, 60 cases have been added to Malaita’s case count and these are old cases that have just been registered.
In Guadalcanal, no reports have been received in the past 5 days, updated information on cases in GP will be provided soon once reports are being obtained from the Province.
Temotu remains COVID-19 free.
In terms of COVID-19 hospitalization, there are now only 2 COVID-19 patients at the National Referral Hospital (NRH), which represents 1 percent of total admissions at the NRH.
