The seminar organised by the Civil Society group for this Wednesday will go ahead as planned but the event depends on the response to the Group's invitation.

A seminar organised by the Civil Society for Wednesday will go ahead as planned.
However, CEO of Transparency Solomon Islands and spokesman for the alliance, Joses Tuhanuku, says the event depends on the response to the group's invitations distributed.

Mr. Tuhanuku says although invitations were sent out late, the group is hoping people invited to speak at the seminar will accept. He says an invitation sent to Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare to address the seminar was yet to be responded to.

Mr. Tuhanuku says the aim of the seminar is to question the Prime Minister Sogavare on the actions the government has taken on the issues of re-arming the local police, the appointments of Julian Moti as Attorney General and Jahir Khan as Police Commissioner, and the government's continuous undermining of the country's legal system.

He says the seminar is for members of the civil society group to hear the government's position on the issues and have the opportunity to have their questions answered by the Prime Minister.
