The bus fare increase has got the city council bosses thinking, and is responding to a private view published recently for the zoning of the city.

The Honiara City clerk, Joseph Huta is holding a general meeting next week with bus services stakeholders, and interested individuals.

The meeting, according to the city clerk, will discuss the issues concerning bus stops, zoning and the economics of zoning, conditions of buses, registering, and the size of bus.

He said the above subjects are important in addressing the bus fare saga.

In related news, the city clerk is also organizing a meeting to discuss with the public the continuous increase in the price of rice.

He said the public are tired of being told that the price is determined by outside factors.

"We will also discuss the current monopoly by Solrice and want to listen to suggestions by public on the issue," said the City Clerk.
