Church Youth to Join World Youth Day in Australia

Youths of the Holy Cross Catholic Church are raising funds to participate in an upcoming World Youth Day in Australia.

The gathering has been scheduled to take place in Sydney on 15th July 2008 for young people world-over.

Speaking to Solomon Times, Alex Ale of the Pastoral Centre said money raised will help meet expenses for the travelling Holy Cross youths.

Mr. Ale said that the church is hoping to send about 80 Holy Cross youths to participate in the Sydney meet.

"They will join some 320 other religious youth organisations in Solomon Islands who aim to be part of the World Youth Day in Sydney," he added.
