Bmobile Solomon Islands is the first company to support the Kwai Beach Games 2022, during a brief handing over ceremony at the Company’s Headquarter at Grand Plaza Building, Town Ground in Honiara.
The company donated Beach Umbrellas, soccer balls, singlets, water bottles, and wrist bands towards the December event, which will be hosted in east Malaita.
According to the Local Organising Committee (LOC), Bmobile is the first to respond to a call for assistance they made early this month.
Wilton Varia, National Marketing Manager of Bmobile said “we are so happy to be the first respondent to the call for assistance. We are also proud to sponsor a first rural sporting event outside of Honiara.”
He added, Bmobile would like to wish the organiser’s and participants a peaceful and enjoyable games this festive season.
Speaking on behalf of the organiser’s, Head of the LOC, Ronald Toito’ona said “We are so pleased to receive such a massive support from Bmobile Solomon Islands.
“The merchandises will be very useful for the event. It is also good to see Bmobile giving back to our community of the Gula’ala region of Malaita, which has a huge number of customers there.”
Launched in December 2019 with Beach Soccer as the lead sport, this year’s event is set to include Beach Volleyball, Canoe Racing, with other sideline activities such as Christian Choir and Band Contests.
The objectives of the Kwai Beach Games are to; (a). Empower young people develop their sporting skills, (b). Enhance an avenue where young people can develop their team work and leadership potentials/skills, (c). Encourage participation amongst young people within the communities of Ward 16 and the wider community, (d). Unite young people and communities through sports to maintain peace and harmony in the societies of Solomon Islands.
The event is confirmed for 26 th – 31 st December 2022 and it will be a week of sports and music festivity.
