Yesterday an Australian Defence Force C-27 transported much needed medical supplies to Lata, Temotu Province on behalf of the Ministry of Health and Medical Services.
The supplies included Australian donated oxygen concentrators and PPE to assist with the COVID response along with essential medicines such as antibiotics, malaria treatments and paracetamol to assist with the current COVID outbreak.
The Health Team also made a courtesy call to Provincial Health Director, Dr Paul Kekou at Lata Hospital to acknowledge their efforts during this challenging time.
The C-27 is in Solomon Islands to support progress on the Western and Eastern Border Outposts.
Temotu Province is currently experiencing an outbreak of COVID-19. Well over 400 plus cases were reported last week in Lata, Tikopia and Dendu.
The Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MHMS) has, last weekend, deployed a team of medical and public health workers to the province.
